We don't have a cultural excursion today as last night we saw the opera of Gogol's story "The Nose."
That was interesting.
I enjoyed parts, like the set, though the whole thing was super absurdist and modern and strange, which, of course, is very Gogol and is fitting for the story, I just had trouble with it on a Monday night after a crazy long weekend. But it was at the Marinskii Theatre which was an experience itself, and the best part was the ticket was 400r ($16) which is wicked cheap compared to theatre in the U.S. so I definitely plan on seeing a lot of plays this year. Maybe some Chekov. He's more my style.
A couple more days added. I'm working on pictures from this weekend. There are a lot.

i like that story! did you not enjoy it? or was it just the opera factor that made it bad?
