The fall starts today???

How strange.

I'll be at some hotel starting at 7:30 tonight doing orientation nonsense all over again for the next two days....

Let me practice....

"Yes, my name is Elizabeth but my nickname is E.B. and in Russia a lot of people call me Liza because E.B. is a swear. I go to Wellesley. Yes, I'll be a junior. Yes, I'm here all year. Oh, I'm a Russian language and literature major too. I also study photo. I'm from Massachusetts. GREAT!"

Sigh. I love making friends.

Wait, have I explained to you all yet about how E.B. is kind of a swear in Russian? I don't think I have. Funny story how I picked the one language to study where my nickname is a bad word. So, it goes like this. Last fall in Russian 201, some of my friends in my class call me Liza but they also liked to call me "Е.Б." (pronounced "yeh-beh") which are the two cyrillic letters closest to "E.B." When Professor Weiner heard this though he said they shouldn't call me this because it's too similar to a swear word. In Russian, the phrase "ёб твою мать" means "fuck your mother." "Ёб" is the imperative form of the verb "to fuck" and when my Wellesley friends happily yell out "Е.Б." they are spelling out this form. When I explained to Katya and Misha all about my names and nicknames and such, Katya laughed and said that it would be like her going to America and having the nickname "F.U."

Anyway, that was a tangent. All I came on here to say was that I am working on getting the film pictures up. I got four of the rolls done yesterday -- though the pinhole roll and the first supersampler roll I shot while traveling both don't have prints yet because they are both overexposed and a little fucked up. Pictures from the Fed 5B Olympic Edition are up in the summer film section, and the second roll of the Supersampler I shot in Latvia are up in the not russia film section. I'm still waiting on a roll of 35mm black and white and two rolls from the Holga -- one black and white and my first roll of color shot with the Holga.

Oh, also, the self portrait section is up to date and.... oh, shit. I just realized that I'm going to have to take another one not in my usual place at the hotel tomorrow. LAME. Life wrecking with my artistic vision. What is this.
